Easy Recipe for Moist Chocolate Cake

A moist chocolate cake is the ultimate overindulgence for any chocolate lover. INGREDIENTS FOR THE BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE

All-purpose flour– accurately measure the flour by using a scale. Accurate measurement is important to make a soft cake. Use 220gm of all-purpose flour to make an amazing chocolate cake.

Granulated sugar – 300gm white sugar for sweet and moist.

Brown sugar – brown sugar will enhance the chocolate taste. If have, you can use a bit of brown sugar but it is optional.

Vanilla extract– use 2 tsp vanilla extract, it enhances the flavor of the chocolate. Must use it.

Cocoa powder- Use 65gm unsweetened cocoa powder and not cocoa mix. Coca is the main ingredient, so use good quality cocoa powder.

Butter- use 115gm unsalted and softened butter

Eggs- 2 eggs will use that help emulsify the batter.

Oil – it is an oil-based cake. So, use 120ml vegetable oil that makes the cakes ultra moist.

Hot Coffee– using hot coffee in the batter, makes the cake unique. It is another reason why this cake is moist. Use 240ml hot coffee.

Dark chocolate– to make the frosting, need 80gm pure dark chocolate.

  • Beat the softened butter and cocoa powder in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Then gradually add the powdered sugar and milk. Beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract in frosting.

MAKE THE BEST MOIST CHOCOLATE CAKE

  • STEP 1. Adding dry ingredients: All the dry ingredinents- flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda are added into a big bowl.
  • STEP 2. Blend in sugar: Add both sugars and salt and whisk to blend well, pressing out any lumps of brown sugar.
  • STEP 3. Blend wet ingredients: Eggs, oil, and vanilla extract kept in a bowl and whisk to blend well, then this mixture is added to the dry ingredients.
  • STEP 4. Mix the wet and dry ingredients: The wet ingredients are pour into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix continuesly with a hand mixer. It will be thick and somewhat dry.
  • STEP 5. Mix hot coffee: Add the hot coffee gradually in to the thick mixture. Adding with two -four stages to reduce the chances of clumps forming. And beat the mixture until the batter become smooth.
  • STEP 6. Bake: Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Or bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.  After completing bake transfer the pans to a wire rack and let it cool for 15 minutes.

Garnishing the cake

  1. When the cake getting cooled, one layer is place on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of frosting on top of the cake.
  2. Place the second layer on top of the first layer and frost the top and sides of the cake.
  3. Finally garnish the cake with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or fruit if you want.

How to Store Chocolate Cake?

  • Short-Term Storage – keep it at room temperature, if you interest to eat the chocolate cake within 1 day. Store it in a dry place but away from direct sunlight.
  • Cover Properly – use cake carrier if you want to store it. Or use an overturned bowl/ large pot to cover the cake and keep it from drying out. If the cake is sliced, press a piece of plastic wrap directly over the cut portions to prevent drying out.
  • Refrigerating – after 24 hours, you will want to refrigerate the cake. Place plastic wrap directly over cut portions, transfer to an airtight container, and refrigerate for up to a week.
  • To Serve – keep the cake in the refrigerator for overnight then bring it to room temperature for at least 15 minutes before serving.

 

BAKING TIPS FOR THE BEST MOIST CHOCOLATE CAKE

  1. Use a neutral tasting oil like vegetable oil or pure sunflower oil for the flavor to let the chocolate taste stand out.
  2. In the baking purpose sugar used as a binding agent. Use right amount of sugar that will make the cake moist because it binds water so that it stays tightly in the batter and doesn’t evaporate when baking.
  3. Be careful about baking timeSet a timer for the first time stated in the recipe and check with a toothpick, it should come out clean.
